Which push-to-talk services work with Hytera radios?
HyTalk is Hytera's own hosted PoC subscription, with voice calls, live video, web dispatch and recording. Hytera says it is hosted throughout Europe; we found no price list. TASSTA, Mobile Tornado and GroupTalk list Hytera radios on their device pages, and the French service Instavox sells the P50 for its own platform.78910116
Hytera says HyTalk runs on its broadband devices, and larger organizations can install it on their own servers.7 We found no GDPR statement for it. Other services name these Hytera models:
- GroupTalk: PNC360, PNC370, PNC380, PNC550 and PDC760.11
- Instavox, a French service: the P50, which it calls compatible.6
- Mobile Tornado: P50, P50 Pro, PNC380, PNC460, PNC560 and MNC360.10
- TASSTA: P50, P50 Pro, P50E, P60, PNC360S, PNC380 and other Hytera devices.9
What should you check before buying a Hytera PoC radio?
Check the LTE bands of the version you receive, whether Google Play and third-party apps are available, and which accessories fit. Hytera prints separate band tables by region and its pages sometimes disagree, so ask the seller for the exact model and version, not only the name.121314
- LTE bands. The P50 EU version lists FDD B1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 18, 19, 20, 26 and 28 and TDD B34, 38, 39, 40 and 41. The US version has other bands and no B20.12 The EU PNC360S page prints no LTE rows; the global page lists B20 for Europe and Asia.1314 Compare with your operator in the LTE band checker.
- Google Play. Hytera's P50 pages do not mention Google Play, and Instavox lists no Google services on it.612 The P30 and P30 Lite cannot install apps.4 For most other models the database has no answer.
- Accessories. The P50 has a 9-pin screw-in audio connector and USB-C; the PNC360S has a 3.5 mm jack and USB-C.1213
- Spec gaps. The EU P50 page still shows a placeholder ("xx hours") for battery life, and OfficeEasy says up to 24 hours.512
- Service. OfficeEasy says GPS dispatch on the P50 needs HyTalk plus the dispatcher option, and Instavox lists the P50 as not MCX compatible.56
