TASSTA on the Hytera P50
The Hytera P50 is one of the radios TASSTA runs on. Here is its screen with the app: tap a feature or the radio's keys to see how a shift works with it.
The radio's keys work too: PTT plays the next call (hold it to talk), the knob or ▲▼ change the group, ◀▶ switch the app’s screens, the red key stops.
What is TASSTA?
TASSTA is a push-to-talk platform made by GMC TASSTA GmbH, a German company with offices in Berlin and Hannover.1 It works on a bring-your-own-device model: TASSTA tests third-party phones and radios and publishes a list of them.12 The vendor supplies the apps, the server and a bridge to radio networks.
| Product | What it is |
|---|---|
| T.Flex | Client app for phones and radios |
| T.Rodon | Dispatcher for Windows and iPad |
| T.Mugen | Browser client and web dispatcher |
| T.Commander | Web interface for server setup and user management |
| T.Recorder | Records, replays and analyzes calls |
| T.Lion | The server |
| T.Bridge | Link to TETRA, DMR, P25 and analog radio networks |
TASSTA also sells a separate line, T.Star and T.Galaxy, built on the 3GPP MCX standards, which include MCPTT.1 The About page traces the company back to 2013.3
Which devices and apps does TASSTA run on?
The T.Flex client runs on Android 5.1 or newer and on iOS; its product page also lists Windows and Apple Watch.45 T.Rodon runs on Windows and iPad, and T.Mugen runs in a web browser with no install.67 TASSTA lists about 175 phones, radios and other devices it has tested.2
The Apple Watch app supports only push-to-talk and emergency buttons for now, and the T.Flex download section lists only Android and iOS.4
The device list covers 46 brands in our count: rugged phones from Samsung, Sonim, RugGear and Crosscall, iPhones, body cameras, and PoC radios from Hytera, Inrico, Kirisun, Talkpod, Telox and others.2 TASSTA says compatibility covers core functions only: the PTT button, the emergency button and, on some models, the volume knob.2 The page also lists more than 70 accessories, such as headsets and speaker microphones.2
In our database, 80 of the 291 current radios name TASSTA among their supported platforms, from 16 makers.8
What does the TASSTA dispatcher do?
T.Rodon, the dispatcher app for Windows and iPad, handles group, individual and priority calls, dynamic groups, emergency calls and lone-worker alerts.6 A map shows GPS positions, zones and guard-tour routes, and indoor positions where set up. T.Mugen is a web dispatcher that runs in a browser.7
- A dispatcher can open a user's microphone or camera remotely.6
- Text messages show read status, and status messages can be preset.6
- Tasks can be created, assigned and tracked with status, priority and attachments.6
- Call recording and history are managed in T.Commander.6
- Through T.Bridge the dispatcher reaches TETRA, DMR, P25 and analog radio networks.9
- The browser dispatcher supports guard-tour monitoring.7
Where does TASSTA run and where is the data kept?
TASSTA runs either inside your own IT, in a private data center or on dedicated servers, or in TASSTA Cloud, which the vendor operates for you.10 The home page says its applications run on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud and Google Cloud.1 The pages checked name no data-center region and make no EU data-residency commitment.
- The on-premise option keeps data on local storage.10
- T.Brother is a failover server for the T.Lion server.1
- No ISO 27001 certificate or data-processing agreement turned up on the pages checked.
How much does TASSTA cost?
TASSTA does not publish prices. As of October 2026 its site offers a demo request and a sales contact, and shows no price list, free plan or self-serve trial.14 The number of simultaneous T.Bridge radio channels depends on the licenses bought.5
The T.Flex, T.Rodon and T.Mugen pages each offer the same demo request.467
What are the limits of TASSTA?
TASSTA publishes no prices, offers no self-serve trial and names no cloud region on the pages checked. Device compatibility covers core functions only: the PTT button, the emergency button and, on some models, the volume knob. The Apple Watch app handles push-to-talk and emergency calls only.24
- Encryption is described two ways: the T.Flex page says end-to-end encryption is always on, while the FAQ has each user turn on PTT encryption and share a key with every contact.45
- Indoor positioning needs at least three fixed Wi-Fi access points with a signal of −79 dBm or stronger, their MAC addresses and a floor plan. Android 10 or newer is recommended.5
- Direct Wi-Fi mode, which works without the server, carries push-to-talk only.4
