Motorola Solutions PoC radios

Motorola Solutions, based in Chicago, sells PoC radios as the TLK series, including the TLK 110 handheld, together with its WAVE PTX subscription. The radios are built for that service, and Motorola does not publish their operating system. Its DMR radios are a separate line, MOTOTRBO. Check the contract terms and LTE bands before buying.

Who is Motorola Solutions?

Motorola Solutions, Inc. is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and says its history of innovation goes back to 1928.1 It sells MOTOTRBO (DMR), DIMETRA (TETRA) and ASTRO (P25) radios, command center software, video security and the WAVE PTX push-to-talk service that its TLK radios use.2

The two radio families work differently. A MOTOTRBO radio has its own transmitter; a TLK radio talks over the mobile network. WAVE PTX can link the two.3

Which Motorola Solutions PoC radios are sold in Europe?

The current European TLK radios are the TLK 110, a handheld with a two-line display and an IP67 body, and the TLK 150 vehicle radio. The TLK 25 wearable is Wi-Fi only in Europe, the TLK 200 lists only North American bands, and the TLK 100 is discontinued.34

On 2026-10-09 the French seller OfficeEasy listed the TLK 110 at €364.90 excluding VAT. Bundles with a 3-month, 1-year or 3-year WAVE PTX SafeGuard subscription cost €451.90, €686.90 and €994.70, also excluding VAT.5

Which services work with Motorola Solutions PoC radios?

WAVE PTX is Motorola's subscription service for its TLK radios. It adds a phone app and a browser dispatch console, and it can link to MOTOTRBO, DIMETRA and ASTRO 25 systems. Motorola says the EMEA service has no usage-based call charges; we found no European price list.67

The SafeGuard package adds safety features built on the 3GPP mission-critical push-to-talk standard (MCPTT); streaming video is optional.7 KODIAK is a second Motorola platform that mobile carriers deploy for their business customers. Verizon, a US carrier, publishes its specification for Push to Talk Plus.8

We found no outside service that lists a TLK radio. TASSTA and GroupTalk list the EVOLVE phone.910

What should you check before buying a Motorola Solutions PoC radio?

Check the contract first: a TLK radio needs a WAVE PTX subscription, and terms differ by seller. Then check the LTE bands of the version sold in Europe. Motorola does not publish the TLK operating system, so ask what the radio can run besides WAVE PTX.57

  • Contract. Motorola's brochure speaks of a fixed annual subscription, while OfficeEasy sells 3-month, 1-year and 3-year bundles. Ask which term applies and what it includes.75
  • LTE bands. The TLK 110 data sheet lists FDD B1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 28 and TDD B38, 40 and 41. The TLK 100 data sheet gives no band list.43
  • SIM. The TLK 110 comes with a pre-installed SIM that covers the EU, EFTA and UK within the subscription, or SIM-free for your own SIM.4
  • Apps. Our database holds no Google Play entry for the TLK radios.3
  • Accessories. The TLK 110 has a 2.5 mm audio jack with a mechanical lock and charges over USB-C.4 The TLK 150 is IP54, so mount it inside the cab.3

Questions

Is WAVE PTX the same as MOTOTRBO?

No. MOTOTRBO is Motorola's DMR radio line. WAVE PTX is a subscription service that carries push-to-talk over mobile data and can connect to MOTOTRBO systems.27 See PoC vs DMR.

Does the TLK 110 work without a subscription?

No. OfficeEasy says 4G use needs a PoC server subscription plus a SIM subscription.5

Is the TLK 100 still sold?

Motorola has moved the TLK 100 to a page of discontinued-product resources. Some resellers still list it.113

Can a TLK radio run Zello or another PTT app?

We found no statement that it can. Motorola does not publish the TLK operating system or a list of third-party apps; ask Motorola or a reseller before relying on one.3
