Poclink radios

Poclink is a Seattle-based seller of small LTE push-to-talk radios that talk to each other through the Poclink app and cloud. Four models are in our catalogue: POC-1 Lite, Pro and Ultra from €179.95 per 2-pack, and the POC-2 Titan at $259 per 2-pack. The radios work only through Poclink's own app and cloud.

Poclink radios are small handhelds that carry voice over LTE, sold with a SIM card by Poclink, a company whose team is based in Seattle, Washington. Poclink describes them as user-controlled: groups, members and settings are managed from the free Poclink app, which is on the App Store and Google Play.12

All four models in our catalogue work the same way. A radio joins talk groups on Poclink's own cloud, and Poclink radios on the same system talk to each other in LTE mode. The Lite page says the Lite works with the Pro and Ultra.2 The basic idea of push to talk over a mobile network is explained in what is a PoC radio.

Which Poclink radios are in our catalogue?

Poclink sells the POC-1 Lite, POC-1 Pro and POC-1 Ultra, and the newer POC-2 Titan. The three POC-1 models share a 1.44-inch screen, a 3,000 mAh battery and an IPX4 rating. The Pro adds Wi-Fi, the Ultra adds an analog radio, and the Titan has a zinc-alloy body.2345

Every price is for a pack of two radios; larger packs are offered. The Titan is sold in a "With GPS" version only, which Poclink says is available on its own site.5 The Titan has a volume knob and three shortcut keys in place of the POC-1 layout.5

All three POC-1 models have 100 groups with up to 200 members each. The Titan has the same limits, with an upgrade to 1,000 members per group.56 Poclink gives a one-year warranty and a 30-day money-back period.2

What do the Wi-Fi and analog modes add?

The Pro adds Wi-Fi so the radio can reach the Poclink cloud without a mobile signal, and the Ultra adds an analog radio for talking to other analog radios directly. Both are extras on top of the LTE connection that all four models share.34

  • Pro: Wi-Fi. The radio uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. You choose a network in the radio's settings and enter its password. Poclink says Starlink Wi-Fi networks work and that the radio can run on Wi-Fi without a SIM if the network has internet access.3
  • Ultra: analog. The Ultra has 16 analog channels at 0.5 W. Poclink says analog mode talks to other analog radios on the same channel with no programming, and quotes an off-grid range of "up to 35+ miles" that varies by location. Realistic ranges are in the range guide and the range tool.4
  • Phones. The Poclink app can join a group conversation from a smartphone, but a Poclink radio cannot call ordinary phone numbers.4
  • App features. Poclink's comparison page lists live GPS tracking, SOS, route history, geofencing, hands-free voice calls and remote over-the-air updates for the POC-1 line.6

How do the Poclink app and SIM plan work?

Each radio ships with a pre-installed SIM and the Standard Global Plan, which Poclink's spec tables call lifetime and free, covering 84 countries. Countries outside the list need an upgrade, which Poclink handles by e-mail; its Premium Global Plan covers more countries.247

The plan term differs by page. The Lite, Ultra and Titan spec tables say lifetime, while the FAQ on the Pro page describes three years free with a $49 lifetime upgrade.2345 Ask for the term in writing before you pay. For what a SIM and a data plan normally cost, see PoC radio SIM card and cost.

Poclink also runs a second system for organizations:

  • Consumer system. The radio is managed from the Poclink app by its owner.8
  • Enterprise system. A separate server environment with a web Management platform and a map-based Dispatcher platform. It adds licenses: Basic Enterprise is $15 per radio for life, a Dispatcher license without a radio is $20, Recording, GPS, SOS, Geofencing and Duplex are $15 each per year, and a VIP license is $149 once (prices of 5 October 2026).8
  • Switching. Radios ship with consumer firmware. To move one to Enterprise, Poclink reflashes it after you send it in. Afterward the radio cannot use the consumer app or talk to consumer radios.8

Do Poclink radios work with Zello or other apps?

No. Poclink radios work through the Poclink app and Poclink's cloud, and they talk to other Poclink radios on the same system. A radio built for one cloud cannot join another service's groups, so choosing Poclink means choosing its platform.24

The trade-off against phones and apps is covered in PoC radio vs phone app, and Zello and TASSTA have their own pages. To test a platform against a device, use the app compatibility checker.

What should you check before buying a Poclink radio?

Check the LTE bands of the model, the length of the SIM plan, whether you need the analog side, and which Poclink system you will use. The POC-1 models list B20 and B28, which European networks use; the Titan's bands are North American.25

  • LTE bands. Compare the list with your operator in the LTE band checker. The Titan's list is aimed at North America (B12, B13, B17, B66).5
  • SIM term and countries. Standard plan: 84 countries. Confirm the term (lifetime or three years) and your country.237
  • Analog mode on the Ultra. The Ultra has 16 analog channels at 0.5 W.4 Ask Poclink which frequencies the EU version uses, then check the rules in the two-way radio licensing guide.
  • Sealing. All four models are IPX4: splash-proof, not submersible. Compare the codes in the IP rating decoder.
  • CE marking. The Lite page states "CE Certified"; for the Pro, Ultra and Titan, ask the seller for the CE declaration.2345
  • Headset. The headset port is a K-type 2-pin connector, with Bluetooth as the alternative.4

Questions

Is there a monthly fee for Poclink radios?

Poclink says the included Standard Global Plan has no monthly or annual fee. Its pages differ on whether the plan runs for life or for three years, so confirm the term before buying.234

Do Poclink radios run Android?

Poclink's radios are managed through the Poclink app and Poclink's cloud, and they work with that platform only.24

Can a consumer Poclink radio join the Enterprise system?

Yes, after conversion. Poclink reflashes the radio with Enterprise firmware, and the radio can then no longer use the consumer app or talk to consumer radios.8

What is the difference between the POC-1 Lite, Pro and Ultra?

The Lite is LTE only, the Pro adds 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and the Ultra adds 16 analog channels with a second PTT button. All three share one band list, battery and screen size.2346

Where is Poclink based?

Poclink says its team is in Seattle, Washington. Its EU store prices in euros.12
